Ivy Cottage
Ivy Cottage is about half a mile outside Whiting Bay. It's detached, but it's next to our house. We did it up a few years ago so it's warm and works properly, but it's still an old cottage. The walls are thick stone.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom is downstairs, off the living room. The stairs go up from the living room too. They're normal cottage stairs, so watch your head upstairs because the ceilings slope. One single bedroom is downstairs.
There's a wood burner in the living room. We leave wood for you. The TV's there and the WiFi usually works fine.
Outside the front door there's a small patio with a couple of chairs. There's a burn that runs past the side, so you can hear the water.
For getting about, the walk to Glenashdale Falls starts right from the cottage. It's a good walk. To get to Whiting Bay itself, it's half a mile mostly downhill. Walking back is uphill, just so you know. The village has a shop, a post office, a coffee shop, and a pub that does food. There's a beach and a play park too. The local golf club is a short drive away.
You can drive to Lamlash in about ten minutes. Brodick is about twenty minutes. The ferry to the mainland is from Brodick.
Inside there's a washing machine, a cot and a highchair if you need them. All the bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's parking right there.
