Loanmhor
Loanmhor is in Shannochie. It's on Arran, on the south end of the island. You get to it down a rough farm track. It's a detached house, so you're on your own out here. The views are over fields.
It sleeps nine people in four bedrooms. There are four bathrooms, which is useful. Three of the bedrooms have an ensuite. One of those is downstairs, which is good if stairs are a problem. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The kitchen is big enough for everyone to eat together. The living room has a wood burner. There's also a sun room at the back that opens onto a deck. You can sit out there if the weather's good.
The nearest place is Kildonan, about three miles away. There's a hotel there that does food. Kildonan has a beach too, you often see seals. For a shop, you need to go to Whiting Bay, which is six miles. Whiting Bay has a few things: a golf club, a playpark by the beach, some shops and a cafe.
If you head the other way, you go through Lagg to Blackwaterfoot. The new Arran Distillery is at Lagg. You can do a tour and get some lunch there.
The whole island is good for walking. You can drive to Brodick in about half an hour to go to Brodick Castle. The Arran visitor site has maps and ideas.
What's here: the garden is enclosed. There's parking. We include bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, highchair and a cot if you need them. You can bring two dogs.
