Drimlabarra Croft

Drimlabarra Croft is on the south end of Arran, in Kildonan. It's a detached house, so you're not attached to anyone. You get the whole place.

It sleeps nine. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which helps with a big group. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but not a show home. It's a family place.

The main thing is the view. Every main room looks straight out to sea, over the Firth of Clyde. You can see Pladda and Ailsa Craig from the windows. You can lie in bed and look at it. There are patio doors from the living room and one of the bedrooms.

There's a big patio outside. You also get access to the beach through a private field next to the house. It's not a long golden beach, it's a proper pebbly Scottish shore. Good for skimming stones. The area is famous for seals. You'll often see them bobbing about.

Inside, it's spacious. There's an open fire in the living room and a wood burner in the dining room. There's gas central heating too, so you won't be cold. It's got a sunroom as well.

The local bar and restaurant is about a two minute walk up the road. They do food. There's a small shop there too.

For facilities: there's a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking. We allow one well-behaved dog.

If you're planning trips, the whole island is within 30 minutes really. Brodick has the ferry, the castle, and Goatfell for walking. The National Trust for Scotland Arran page is useful for that. The island's main website is Visit Arran.
