This is Springbank, in Drimlabarra near Kildonan on Arran. It's a three-storey house in a quiet cul-de-sac, so it's peaceful. You look out over the fields to the sea. You can see the islands of Pladda and Ailsa Craig from the windows.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's decorated in a sort of coastal theme. The main living area is open plan with big windows, so it feels light. There's a wood burner that heats both the lounge and the kitchen area, which is good for colder nights.
Kildonan beach is about a hundred yards away. You often see seals there. The beach is safe for paddling. A local hotel with a bar and restaurant is a five-minute walk along the shore. The village shop is six miles away in Whiting Bay, so you'll want to bring supplies.
There's a second living room on the top floor with a TV and an old Xbox. It's a space for kids to be on their own. The garden is enclosed.
Facilities: everything's included. Bedding, towels, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. There's a cot and a highchair. Parking for two cars on the drive. It's suitable for someone with limited mobility, as there's a step-free entrance and a downstairs shower room.
You're allowed one well-behaved dog.
For planning days out, the Visit Scotland Arran page is useful, as is the National Trust for Scotland page on Arran. The island drive to Brodick and the castle is about half an hour.
