Castleside Croft is over in Kildonan, on the Ayrshire coast. It's a semi-detached place. You get a good view across the water towards Pladda lighthouse and Ailsa Craig. And as the name says, it's right next to the old Kildonan Castle ruins, so you look out at them and the sea.
It sleeps four people. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. Everything's tidy and works, it's not modern-luxury style but it's comfortable. The bathroom is on the ground floor.
There's a bunk room on the ground floor, which is handy if you've got kids with you. Upstairs, there's a double bedroom with a little Juliet balcony that looks over the garden, the castle and the sea. The other upstairs room has twin beds. They're both bright.
The living room has patio doors out to the garden. The garden is south-facing, so you get the sun. There's some outdoor furniture out there. You can sit and watch the ferries go past.
The beach is about a five minute walk down the lane. You often see seals there. There's a hotel with a bar and restaurant about the same distance away, five minutes on foot.
For things to do, Culzean Castle is about a twenty minute drive. It's a National Trust for Scotland place. You can walk the coast path from here. Girvan is the nearest proper town for shops, that's about ten miles. Ayr is roughly half an hour by car if you need more.
What's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, TV, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. Parking for two cars on the gravel driveway. You can bring up to two dogs.
