Woodlea Cottage 2

Woodlea Cottage 2 is down in Dippen, a tiny spot of a place at the southern end of the Isle of Arran. It's a detached cottage, all to yourself. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star grading.

It's a traditional place, low ceilings with beams and wooden doors. The stairs are there, and like most cottages here, they're a bit steep. Just mind your head. The bathroom has a separate roll-top bath, which is nice. We leave some Arran Aromatics things for it.

The garden is enclosed and looks south over the fields to the sea. You can see the water from the back. If you're lucky, you might spot dolphins from there, or porpoises. Red squirrels come into the garden quite often.

Facilities are all there: dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, parking. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.

Whiting Bay is about two miles up the road. It's got a shop, a post office, a pub that does food, a coffee shop, and a beach. Their golf club is right on the coast. Further south, about four miles, is Kildonan. The beach there is good for watching seals, and sometimes otters from the shore.

Lamlash is roughly a ten-minute drive north. You can get the ferry from there over to Holy Isle. For a longer day out, the main town of Brodick is about half an hour by car. The ferry terminal is there, and you've got Brodick Castle and its gardens.

If you want to plan walks or see what's on the island, VisitScotland's Arran page is useful.

You can book it together with Woodlea Cottage 1 next door if you're a group of up to six.
