Burnside Cottage is on a farm near Sliddery, about six miles inland from Blackwaterfoot. It's a bit off the main road down a track, so it's quiet. You get fields all around and a stream at the bottom of the garden.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. The bathroom is downstairs, and there's a bedroom down there too, which is handy if stairs are a problem. The other two bedrooms are upstairs. The rating is 3 Star, which is accurate. It's comfortable and clean, not luxurious.
The garden looks out over the fields. You can sit out there. It's peaceful.
Blackwaterfoot village has the basics: a shop, a post office, a butcher, a hotel with a bar and restaurant, and a beach. The golf course is there too.
For a bigger day out, Brodick on Arran is about a 30 minute drive to the ferry at Ardrossan, then the crossing. The National Trust for Scotland looks after Brodick Castle and Garden over there. Closer to home, you can drive down to the Mull of Kintyre. It's good for coastal walks.
What's here: a woodburning stove, TV, wifi, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed. There's a shower, no bath.
