Bracklinn

Bracklinn is in Blackwaterfoot on the Isle of Arran. It's a detached house. It sleeps eight, but that's with four bedrooms and a pull-out bed in the playroom. It's a three star rating, so everything works and it's clean, but it's not posh.

The main thing is the view. Most rooms look out over the garden and the bay towards the Mull of Kintyre. You can see it from the living room and the main bedrooms. The lawn is big and fenced.

The stairs are a proper old staircase, quite grand but a bit steep. There are original fireplaces in some of the bedrooms too, but they're not for use. The kids' playroom has a TV and a PlayStation. There's a big store room at the back for bikes and golf clubs.

The owners live in a small cottage at the back. You won't see them unless you need something.

It's about a two minute walk to Shiskine Golf Club. They do food. The beach is the same distance. The village centre, with shops and a hotel, is about a quarter of a mile down the road.

For facilities, you've got the wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, parking, all that. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair. No pets, sorry.

If you're planning trips, the National Trust for Scotland Arran page is useful. The VisitScotland Arran guide has general information too.
