Tighnamara Blackwaterfoot

Tighnamara is in Blackwaterfoot, on Arran. It's a detached house, so you're not joined on to anyone else. You can walk to the village and the beach from here.

It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which helps when you've got a full house. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped.

The house is on one level at the front, but the bedrooms are upstairs. The living area is open plan, with a woodburning stove. We keep a supply of logs for it. The patio and garden are enclosed, which is good if you've brought dogs.

Blackwaterfoot has what you need: a shop, a butcher, a hotel with a bar and restaurant, and a golf course. The beach is sandy and it's just along the road.

You can see the whole island from here. Brodick is about a twenty minute drive. The mountain road over to Lochranza is spectacular, but it's single track with passing places. Lamlash is maybe twenty-five minutes, and that's where you get the ferry over to Holy Isle. The coastal scenery is really the main thing. The sunsets from this side of the island are very good.

For walking, there's the coast path or you can head into the hills. Glen Rosa is near Brodick. The National Trust for Scotland looks after a lot of the land. If you're planning outdoor activities, the VisitScotland page for Arran has reliable information.

Facilities: there's parking for two cars on the drive. We include bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
