Ivybank Cottage
Ivybank Cottage is in Lamlash on Arran. It's next to our house and just across the road from the shore, so you get those good sea views over to the Holy Isle.
It's a small, old cottage. Sleeps two. There are two bedrooms but they're both singles, so it's best for friends or a couple. The bathroom's downstairs, which is a bit odd, but you get used to it. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and warm, but it's not posh.
The garden goes up the hill. From the top you can see right over the village and the bay. It's a proper view.
You're right in the village. The bus stops nearby if you need it. There are a few pubs and places to eat within a short walk. The bay's full of boats and you can often see seals out on the rocks. The ferry over to the Holy Isle leaves from the jetty just down the road.
For getting around, the whole island is within about a 30 minute drive. The standing stones at Machrie Moor are worth a trip. You've got King's Cave near Blackwaterfoot too. The island's good for walking, golf, and spotting wildlife like red deer and golden eagles.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. We include the bedding and towels. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
