Hamilton Terrace

This is Hamilton Terrace in Lamlash. It's on Arran, so you get the ferry over from Ardrossan. It's a terrace cottage, one in a row of six. The front room has big bay windows that look right out across Lamlash Bay to Holy Isle. You can sit and watch the ferries come and go.

It sleeps four, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not high-end. It's got some old features, which is nice. One of the upstairs bedrooms has a sea view. Another one has the original built-in bed under the eaves, which kids tend to like. The stairs are mentioned as being steep and open, so you need to be careful on them.

You're right in the middle of Lamlash village, but the house is set back from the main road so it's fairly quiet. You can walk to everything: the co-op, a couple of pubs that do food, the beach, and a play park. The golf club is just up the road.

For getting out, you're well placed. You can catch the local bus from the stop nearby or drive. Brodick Castle is about fifteen minutes away by car. The main ferry to the mainland goes from there too. If you like walking, Glenrosa Waterfall or the path up to the Whinny Hill viewpoint are good options close by. The whole island is easy to explore from here.

What's here: WiFi, TV, washing machine, parking for one car out front. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.

For planning, the National Trust for Scotland Arran page is useful, and so is the VisitScotland guide to Arran.
