Curiosity Cottage is in Eyam, which is a village in the Peak District. It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms upstairs: two doubles and one with bunk beds. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Downstairs is all one room. There's a kitchen at one end, then a dining table, then the lounge area with a TV. It's practical, not huge, but it works for a group. The door leads out to a small, private courtyard. It gets the sun in the morning. It's enclosed, so it's safe for dogs.
Eyam is famous for the plague story from 1665. The villagers isolated themselves to stop it spreading. You can walk around and see the plaques on the houses. The local museum is good if you want the full details. There's a village shop for basics and a pub that does food.
For walking, you can start right from the doorstep. The path to Foolow is nice. For bigger views, Eyam Edge is a short climb. If you drive, Stanage Edge and Mam Tor are about 20 minutes away. They're proper Peak District ridge walks.
Chatsworth House is a 25 minute drive. Haddon Hall is about 20 minutes. Buxton, with its opera house and pavilion gardens, is 15-20 minutes up the road.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's well-equipped. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. We accept up to two dogs.
