Haystack Haven is a detached cottage on a working farm in Thornhill. It's in the Peak District.
The cottage is for two people, with one bedroom and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, clean, and modern. There's a super king size bed upstairs with an en-suite. Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining area, and lounge. Outside, there's a private garden with a patio, a BBQ, and a hot tub.
Because it's a working farm, you'll see sheep and cattle in the nearby fields. The farmer might be out and about during the day. We live on site too, so we're around if you need anything, but we'll leave you to it otherwise.
Hope Valley is about a ten minute drive. There are a couple of pubs, a shop, and a garden centre with a café there. For a walk, you can drive up to the Great Ridge from Hope or go into Castleton to see the caves.
Buxton is about twenty five minutes away. You've got the Opera House, the Pavilion Gardens, and the Crescent there. Bakewell is roughly half an hour. Chatsworth House is also within a thirty minute drive. The house and grounds are worth a visit. For walking information, the Peak District National Park website is useful, and National Trust Peak District has details on their places.
Facilities include the hot tub, WiFi, a Smart TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking right next to the cottage. We can take up to two dogs. We also have a travel cot if needed.
