South Wing is part of a very old farmhouse near the village of Frogmore. It's a working arable farm, so you'll see tractors and hear birds. The main house dates back to the 1100s, but this wing has been done up for guests.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite. The stairs are the original ones, so they're a bit steep and uneven. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and two large sofas. The kitchen has a Rayburn range cooker and a proper electric oven, plus a washer/dryer. The floor is slate, which is cold underfoot, so you might want slippers.
Outside, there's a small patio area with a table and chairs. You get your own parking space on the drive.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a TV and wifi. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
The farm is quiet, but you're only a few minutes' drive from Frogmore and Kingsbridge. Kingsbridge has shops, pubs, and a leisure centre. You can get the steamer from there down the estuary to Salcombe. The nearest proper beaches are about a twenty-minute drive: places like Bantham, Bigbury-on-Sea, or Torcross. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible for walks.
It's a good base for exploring. Plymouth, Dartmoor, and a lot of the South Hams coast are within a 30 to 40 minute drive.
