The Lookout is an apartment right in the middle of Salcombe. You're above the shops, overlooking the pontoons at Whitestrand. The view is just the harbour, the estuary, and the hills. It's a proper Salcombe view.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We had it all redone a couple of years ago, so it's fresh and everything works.
Because you're in the centre, you can step outside and you're there. The bakery, the butchers, the pubs, they're all right there. It's not a quiet spot, it's a busy one. If you want to watch the boats coming and going with a coffee, this is the place.
For getting out on the water, you're a two minute walk from the slipway and the ferry landing. You can walk to North Sands or South Sands beaches, but it's a proper hilly walk back. Most people drive. The South West Coast Path is right there if you want a longer walk.
Within about half an hour you can drive to places like Kingsbridge, or over to Bigbury-on-Sea for Burgh Island. Dartmoor is about forty minutes.
It's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's Wi-Fi and a TV. The parking is in a shared car park a couple of minutes' walk away. You get a permit for one car. No pets, sorry.
If you're looking into the area, the National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline nearby.
