The Laurels
The Laurels is a wing of a big house in South Allington. It’s for families or groups, sleeps twelve. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. It got redone a few years back.
The main rooms are downstairs. The kitchen is big, with a table that seats everyone. There are leather sofas in the living room. Both rooms look out onto the garden.
Upstairs, it’s a mix. Two of the main bedrooms are doubles with lots of light. One has its own bathroom, the other has bunk beds in it as well. There’s a smaller double and two more bedrooms that we can set up with twins or doubles, whatever you need. There’s also a separate shower room.
The house runs on a wind turbine and solar panels, so the electricity is green.
You get the run of the main house gardens. There’s a big barbecue and plenty of furniture. You can also use the tennis court and the croquet lawn. The beach is about a mile away. You can bring up to two dogs.
The place has a 3 Star rating. It means it’s comfortable and clean, not a show home. It’s got Wi-Fi, TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking right there. The entrance is step-free.
If you’re looking for things to do, the South Devon National Landscape is on the doorstep for walks. Dartmouth and Brixham are about half an hour’s drive. Salcombe is a bit further. Dartmoor is under an hour away.
