End House is on Batson Creek in Salcombe. It's our family house. It's bright and feels bigger inside than it looks.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps when there are a few of you. It's got a 4 Star rating which means it's well equipped and comfortable. It's not minimalist.
The main thing is the view. The living room windows look right out over Batson Creek, across to Snapes Point and South Pool. You can sit and watch the boats. The garden is pretty, not huge, but it's sunny and private. You can park several cars off the road, which is a relief in Salcombe.
It's in a quiet spot, but you can walk to the town centre, the shops and the main quay in less than ten minutes. You don't really need the car if you don't want to.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ in the garden for when the weather's good.
For things to do, you're right on the coast path. The National Trust's Overbeck's is a short drive away for a proper garden and views. South Pool and East Portlemouth are lovely for a trip across the water. Kingsbridge is about a 20 minute drive up the estuary if you need a bigger supermarket.
No pets, I'm afraid.
