Chyrond is one of Veryan’s famous Round Houses, built by the Reverend Jeremiah Trist in the 19th century out of cob construction with a thatched roof. In a Round House, there are no corners where the devil can hide. A cross on the top of each one adds extra protection!
The cottage has been extended over the years, and now has a master bedroom with en-suite on the first floor of the Round House and a dining room and well-equipped kitchen below, great for any budding chef on holiday. There are two further bedrooms and a large, comfortably decorated living room as well. This is a dog-friendly property with a purpose-built dog run in the peaceful garden. It has been in the Williams family since the 1960s and, although much modernised, is still the family holiday home, now in its fourth generation.
Nestled in the heart of the picturesque rural village of Veryan with its unusual Round Houses, convenience store and pub. Also nearby is the quintessential Cornish harbour village of Portloe which still has a few fishing boats that are rolled up onto the beach via a traditional winch. This is big walking country and there are few places better suited to exercise the family pet. There is easy access to the coastal footpath with some dramatic walks around Nare Head, Portloe and the Dodman which is slightly further away. For those looking for a great beach, Carne beach with its long expanse of sand is only a mile away together, the hotel perched above the beach offers some great dining experiences. Beach 1 mile.
