Falmouth is home to a natural deep harbour on the Fal estuary, inclusive of four beaches. The closest being Castle Beach which offers fantastic rock pooling ideal for families. The largest being Gyllyngvase, also a popular family destination. Swanpool and Maenporth beach both offer cafes and nearby restaurants ideal for a special occasion. Car parking is available at all of the beaches but at the height of season it does get very busy.
Falmouth habour and town is a short walk away and has so much to offer, cobbled streets boasting small independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, there is something for everyone. Wander around looking for gifts, stop for refreshment in the Square and people watch. Why not visit The Maritime Museum? Or head to the 16th Century Pendennis Castle, stroll along the rugged coast paths or set off and visit one of the beautiful gardens at Trebah, Glendurgan or Enys Gardens. The beauty of Falmouth is all year, a brisk stroll along the promenade is great for blowing away the cobwebs. If you want to venture further the city of Truro is 12 miles away, cobbled streets with variety of shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants to suit every culture. There is so much to do here from visiting the Cathedral to bowling, cinema, catching a show.
