Alexander Cottage is a semi-detached, dog-friendly, character cottage in the heart of Penryn with the bonus of having its own parking space. Exposed beams add to the traditional feel of the cottage. There are two well-proportioned bedrooms and a beautiful, colourful courtyard garden with pretty shrubs and flowers that is south-facing and a real sun trap in the summer.
Steeped in history, the charming town of Penryn is a fantastic choice for your next Cornish holiday. Quieter than its famous neighbour, Falmouth, there is a labyrinth of olde-worlde cobbled streets to explore, beautiful scenery to take in, a thriving art community to discover and friendly locals to meet. Right on your doorstep is a fantastic pub and pizzeria. Falmouth is a short drive/bus ride away. It is one of the most vibrant towns in Cornwall with a fine array of eateries and nightlife and some superb attractions, including Pendennis Castle, The National Maritime Museum. There is also a regular foot ferry service that links most of the Fal estuary, including St Mawes, Trelissick Gardens and, when the tides are right, even going as far as Truro.
Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall, with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Oyster Festival in October and associated shoreside events. The beaches at Gyllyngvase and Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south-facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the bay visiting The Helford River or taking a sea safari to see the amazing sea life, including dolphins, sharks and sometimes whales. Beach 3 miles.
