Tremorva is only a short, five-minute walk down the hill to the pretty little harbour of Portscatho, where many artists have taken inspiration from the stunning location and superb light in the area. Several delightful small galleries are showcasing the work of various Cornish artists. The local pub nestled in The Square serves local ales and good pub grub all year round. Rosevine beach, is just to the east of the village. It has beautiful golden sands and is overlooked by an increasingly famous beachside cafe.
To the west of Portscatho is St Mawes, one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a top-rated sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas, and larger events are commonplace on the bay’s superb waters all through the summer. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony’s Head, or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. Beach ½ mile.
