Dolphin Cottage is an end of terrace cottage that is perched on the rocks above Portmellon Cove, at high tide you feel as though the sea is lapping around your feet while at low tide a generous expanse of golden sand is exposed. The cottage has three floors, and every room has views of the cove. Dolphin Cottage is dog friendly, and there are miles of the most fantastic walks either straight from your door or within a short drive. The cottage has the main living area on the first floor with a living/ dining room and kitchen. The master bedroom is above, and there is a sitting room with open fire and a double sofa bed on the ground floor.
Portmellon is a quiet little cove surrounding a sandy beach and, if you are an early riser, boasts some magical sunrises as the cove is east facing and usually protected from the prevailing winds. Portmellon is ideally suited to visit the world-famous Eden Project, The Lost Gardens Of Heligan and the famous port of Charlestown. It is placed on the Coastal Footpath which runs past the cottage and offers a wealth of destinations both along the coast and inland. Appropriately the local public house, serves local ales and home cooked food. Portmellon is less than a mile from the pretty harbour of Mevagissey which was once the centre of the Pilchard industry on the South Coast and most of the quaint cottages around the harbour were originally built during these times.
Mevagissey is a wonderful little Cornish fishing village in Cornwall. The tiny seaside village is packed with old Cornish cottages complete with narrow alleyways leading to converted fish cellars offering gift shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Mevagissey boat trips are available, including the regular ferry to Fowey. Further west is the pretty village of Gorran Haven, Caerhays Castle and the magnificent Roseland Peninsula. Beach 1⅓ mile.
