It's Groom's Cottage in Chatton. It's set back from the main road, on the farm here. The lane is quiet.
The cottage is all on one level, which is handy. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one double and one with two singles. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's clean and comfortable, not luxurious. The living area is open-plan, with the kitchen, table and seating all together. There's a wood burner, and we leave wood for it. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids. It looks out over the fields.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and hear tractors. That's just how it is.
Chatton itself is small. There's a village shop and a pub, The Percy Arms, which does food. Wooler is about ten minutes by car for more shops. Alnwick is about twenty minutes away. They've got the castle and the gardens there, which are good. The National Trust looks after the gardens.
For walks, you're close to the Cheviot hills. You can drive up to Wooler Common or Harthope Valley. The coast is about half an hour. Bamburgh Beach is good, and you've got the castle there too. Holy Island is further, maybe forty-five minutes, but you have to check the tide times.
Chillingham Castle is just up the road, and the famous wild cattle are there. For fishing, there's Chatton Trout Fishery a couple of miles away.
Facilities wise: it's got a washing machine, WiFi, TV, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We take one well-behaved dog.
