Quayside Lodge forming part of this prominent building is full of history and character and is located right on the waterfront in Flushing, across the river from Falmouth. It is Grade II listed and is a superb place to stay overlooking the river. It also benefits from a quite exquisite private garden to the rear which gets sunshine for much of the day. Private off road parking is available. One of our many dog friendly holiday homes.
The house is laid out in reverse style with a double and twin bedroom on the ground floor. The twin room also has two pull out beds making this an ideal room for children. The magnificent hallway and grand staircase lead to the living room and kitchen diner at first floor level which have superb views over the river and across to Falmouth. There is a small double bedroom on the first floor, but please do bear in mind that this is a small room with restricted access to one side of the bed. The back garden at Quayside Lodge is simply delightful. A lower patio garden with a higher level deck area which also has views over towards Falmouth. The garden gets good sunshine for much of the day and is a private and tranquil place to relax.
Overlooking the river from the first floor windows, there is always something to watch in the active harbour. Flushing is a quiet village with some great village walks around the headland to Mylor. It is also linked to Falmouth via a short passenger ferry ride from the quay which is a short walk from the house.
Due to its position, Flushing is said to be one of the warmest villages in the United Kingdom, the beaches at Kiln are extremely popular in the summer months. There are two pubs, and also a fish restaurant, located on Ferry Quay. Flushing Regatta Week is held annually during late July or early August, and features water-based activities such as bathtub racing, sandcastle building and a carnival. Beach 5 miles.
