Earsdon Cottage
This is Earsdon Cottage in Ireby. It's a two bedroom place that sleeps four. One bathroom. We've had it refurbished lately, so it's all fresh inside, but we kept the old beams and stonework. It feels solid.
There's a log burner in the living room. The dining room gets good light and looks out onto the back garden. It's enclosed, so it's safe for kids or dogs. We allow two pets.
The kitchen is new and has a dishwasher and washing machine. It's got everything you'd need. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you bring them. The rating is 4 Star.
Ireby is a quiet village. There's a local pub you can walk to. It's a rural spot, so you get the fields and the quiet. Bassenthwaite Lake is about five minutes away by car.
You're well placed for the Northern Lakes. Keswick and Cockermouth are about twenty minutes' drive. Borrowdale, Derwentwater, Whinlatter Forest, Buttermere, they're all within half an hour. It's a good base if you want to explore that side of the national park without being right in the busiest parts.
