The area is surrounded by National Trust farmland and is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Heritage coastline, ideal for walking and exploring the area. Across the bay is St Mawes which can be reached by car or foot ferry. Popular things to do include taking a boat trip from the harbour, walking around St Mawes Castle and lazing on the beach. There are plenty of places to stop for refreshment as well as lovely gift shops to wander around. Why not catch the King Harry ferry, a 20-minute drive away. It is a valuable link from the Roseland to Falmouth and Truro, crossing the River Fal.
Falmouth town is on the River Fal and is full of cafés, restaurants and bars. It has an extensive choice to suite everyone. For a quieter day, why not sit next to the harbour and eat fish and chips while watching the boats come and go. Spend a day at the National Maritime Museum, or walk along the beautiful coastal paths. The slipway is a 100 yard stroll and local beaches within walking distance include Cellars Beach, Great and Little Molunan, and Towan beach.
Truro is the capital of Cornwall, dominated by the impressive cathedral. Cobbled streets lead you down small alleys to hidden gems of galleries, restaurants and cafés, and larger shops can be found on the main streets as well as the H all for Cornwall.
