Admiral's Lookout
Admiral's Lookout is in Ilfracombe. It's a Georgian building overlooking the sea, on the far western side of town. It's detached, but there are other houses nearby.
It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, two of which are en-suite. The rating is 5 Star, so it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. Two of the bedrooms are kingsize, one is a double, and the fourth bedroom with twin beds is on a mezzanine level. The stairs are fine, typical for this style of house.
It's a duplex, so the living space is all on the upper floor. That's for the views. The windows are big. You'll see boats and the Bristol Channel. There's a kitchen with a range cooker and a dishwasher. Wi-Fi is included. There's also an office space with a desk and monitors if anyone needs to work.
Parking is via two permits for a nearby car park, which is a three-minute walk away. You can pull up right outside to drop your bags off.
Ilfracombe's harbour is a ten-minute walk. There are shops, cafes, and restaurants. You can buy fish right off the boats on the quay. There are several beaches to choose from within a fifteen-minute drive, like Croyde and Woolacombe.
The house is right on the South West Coast Path. You can walk east towards Hele Bay or west towards Lee Bay. The coastal scenery is the main reason to be here. Exmoor National Park is a twenty-minute drive inland. You can get boat trips out to Lundy Island from the harbour in season.
The facilities list is accurate. There's an enclosed patio garden, a washing machine, bedding and towels are provided, and there's a smart TV. No pets, sorry.
