Meadow View 16

Meadow View 16 is a lodge on Mullacott Park, near Ilfracombe. It’s detached, so no one is sharing any walls with you. You get three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy with six people. One bedroom has its own shower and a walk-in wardrobe.

It’s a 4 Star place. That means it’s comfortable and well looked after. The main room is all open plan – kitchen, dining, and sitting area together. There’s a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The TV is a Smart TV. Bedding and towels are included.

The decking outside is a good size and has a glass balustrade so the view isn’t blocked. You look out over fields and can see the sea in the distance. It’s a quiet spot.

On site, there’s a shop for basics and a pub that does food. The bus to Ilfracombe, Woolacombe or Barnstaple stops right outside the park gate if you don’t want to drive.

Woolacombe Beach is about ten minutes by car. It’s a long, sandy beach, good for surfing. Ilfracombe is five minutes in the other direction. The harbour is old, and has the Damien Hirst statue ‘Verity’. There are boat trips from there too.

For walking, the South West Coast Path is right there. Exmoor National Park is about twenty minutes’ drive. Lynton and Lynmouth are a bit further, maybe half an hour. They’ve got the cliff railway there.

You can drive to Saunton Sands in under half an hour. The Tarka Trail is nearby if you want a flat cycle or walk.

Parking is right next to the lodge. No pets allowed, sorry.
