Deer Leap Farm is a 400-year-old thatched cottage set within 18 acres of private apple orchards, fields and woodlands. This lovely holiday home offers its guests utter tranquillity and escapism, completely surrounded by wildlife.

Whether you want a quiet gentle stroll or an exhilarating mountain biking experience, there’s something for you at Haldon Forest Park. With a range of walking and cycling trails to suit all abilities, as well as a pump loop, cycle skills area, orienteering courses, play equipment and so much more just waiting to be discovered. There are four walking trails, five cycling routes and a 1. 5km running route. Go Ape and Go Segway are also based at Haldon Forest.

Go Ape is a great location for thrill seekers and family adventurers, with hilltop to hilltop zip wires and daring high level crossings. You may be deep in the forest but the 360-degree views from the treetop vantage points are spectacular.

The nearest beaches are around a 25-minute drive away at Teignmouth, with Dawlish slightly further away. Exmouth can be reached in around 35 minutes and offers opportunities for diving, windsurfing and sailing. The property has easy access to the cathedral city of Exeter which is just a 15-minute drive to the city centre via the A38. You are sure of a busy day out in Exeter, with its range of popular shops and boutiques, restaurants, theatre, cinemas and other leisure facilities. Close by, there are other attractions to suit all tastes as well as numerous National Trust properties and gardens. In the evenings you can relax in the garden, enjoy a glass of wine, or visit one of many local family pubs serving good food.

Situated in one of South Devon’s most popular areas, you will be able to stroll and explore the adjacent woodland, or enjoy some delightful country walks directly from the property. The wild bird sanctuary and reserve at Dawlish Warren is nearby, as is rugged Dartmoor, a haven for wildlife, wild ponies and more strenuous walks. Beach 13½ miles. Shop 5 miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant 1½ miles.
