Horrabridge is in an ideal village location from which to explore the moors and the South Hams and it is conveniently located just off the A386 midway between Tavistock and Yelverton on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. On a bus route for those who would prefer to park up and leave the car behind, the village has a good pub, a village store, bakers and takeaway, all within walking distance of the property. This property is a fantastic base for those who enjoy walking or cycling. The Drakes Trail, a 21-mile path linking Tavistock to Plymouth, is right on the doorstep and it is part of the National Cycle Trail Route 27. Visit the impressive Gem Bridge spanning the wooded valley and Grenofen Tunnel, taking you through beautiful woodlands and open moorland. Just a short drive away is the well known Buckland Abbey and Castle Drogo, a fantastic day out, and the village of Yelverton is also within easy reach, offering a number of shops, cafes and restaurants. A ten-minute drive away, is the award-winning Pannier Market of Tavistock. Burrator Reservoir is close by on Dartmoor, where part of the Steven Spielberg film War Horse was filmed. The waterside city of Plymouth is a short drive away, with activities for rainy days including the National Marine Aquarium, The Pavilions swimming pool and ice rink, the historic Barbican, The Royal William Yard, and a couple of theatres.
