The Stable
Decorated and equipped to a wonderful standard, The Stable is a converted barn set in the glorious South Hams countryside and provides the perfect base for a truly Devonshire holiday. The Stable features underfloor heating throughout as well as a wood burner for those extra chilly evenings with added ambiance. Polished slate floors lead you into the comfortably furnished living room with a wood burning stove and sumptuous sofas. Cosy up with your loved ones and rest your tired feet in front of the roaring fire and watch your favourite movie as you relax and reset. Head to the open plan kitchen/dining room to rustle up a hearty breakfast, take your pick of dining inside or have a boost of fresh air and take your coffee to the patio table and chairs while the sun rises and the birds sing. The well fitted and equipped kitchen features all the appliances you could need including a trusty dishwasher giving you more time to indulge in Devon life. Climb the oak staircase to the bedrooms and take your pick from two en-suite bedrooms - will you choose the view to the patio or rural views? Bedroom one features a double and a single bed whilst bedroom two accommodates two guests in a double. Whichever room you choose, a comfortable night’s sleep awaits you and the chance to dream about your next adventure. As the sun sets on yet another wonderful day exploring the local area, relax on the patio furniture, check out the beautiful walks available from the farm or simply enjoy the chapters of your favourite book.
Nestled between Kingsbridge with its market, shops and quirky restaurants and the boating mecca of Salcombe you are well placed to take your pick from a whole host of activities. Enjoy the coastline upon the water, try your skills on a paddleboard to discover hidden coves and less trodden beaches or simply jump aboard one of the many boat trips available.
With so many stunning beaches within a short drive, you will be spoilt for choice as to which to choose, perhaps Bigbury-on-Sea will tempt you with the famous Burgh Island, the setting of many an Agatha Christie mystery. If it is pumping waves and a chance to try surfing is more your thing, head to Bantham Beach, a favourite for our fur friends being dog-friendly all year round. The Stable is a truly delightful country retreat in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the South Hams, with so much to do on your doorstep you find it hard to leave! Beach 5 miles.
