Heading upstairs there are two comfortable bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a triple bunk bed with a single bed over the double . The cottage is just a couple of minutes walk from Tavistock town centre, an ancient stannary town with World Heritage status. The vibrant destination offers a unique selection of independent shops offering locally produced food. The famous pannier market is not to be missed and there are an excellent selection of cafés and restaurants within walking distance. You will be spoilt for choice with excellent walking and cycling routes close by including Dartmoor National Park which is the largest and wildest area of open countryside in the south of England with its ancient woodland and granite tors. The Drakes Trail, a 21-mile path linking Tavistock to Plymouth is nearby and it is part of the National Cycle Trail Route 27. Visit the impressive Gem Bridge spanning the wooded valley and Grenofen Tunnel, taking you through beautiful woodlands and open moorland. There are many stunning beaches to explore on the South Devon and Cornwall coasts and many National Trust properties including Cothele House, Saltram House, Lydford Gorge, Buckland Abbey and Castle Drogo. Golf, fishing and horse riding are all on offer close by and for a great day out, Plymouth, 12 miles has plenty of shops, theatres, the National Marine Aquarium and the historic Barbican. The waterside city of Plymouth is a short drive away, with activities for rainy days including the National Marine Aquarium, The Pavilions swimming pool and ice rink, the historic Barbican, The Royal William Yard and a couple of theatres.
