Poundwell House is a charming Grade II listed 17th century dwelling which was originally part of the magistrate’s court in the heart of Modbury. The owners have recently renovated the property to make it both extremely comfortable for up to eight guests to stay in, whilst at the same time retaining all of its original character and features. Peacefully located in the beautiful South Hams area of Devon, this three-bedroom holiday home is the perfect base for your holiday. As you enter the property, head into the cosy living room which has plenty of seating including a double sofa bed, a Smart TV with Freeview and a wood burner. Next, discover the large kitchen/ diner which is well-equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, under-counter fridge and a dining table and chairs. The utility has a washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, printer, and a separate toilet, plus access to the courtyard garden with its outdoor seating and barbecue. The first two are located on the ground floor, one with a double bed and the other has a kingsize bed with an en-suite walk-in shower and the adjacent family bathroom is fitted with a shower over the bath. The third bedroom is on the first floor with a kingsize bed and a luxurious en-suite bathroom.
Poundwell House offers space, warmth and comfort throughout the year, located in the heart of vibrant Modbury, yet providing a quiet haven of peace and tranquillity. The surrounding countryside is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are stunning views from the house across the medieval church spire to the meadows. It is perfect for small family gatherings or groups of friends to relax and explore the area. Modbury lies in a hollow between the South Devon Coast and Dartmoor with gently undulating hills and meadows, and the town offers an excellent range of amenities including a diverse and interesting range of unique shops, pubs, and restaurants. Superbly positioned for easy access to Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes, and Plymouth. Dartmoor and Torbay are also within easy reach and the nearest beaches are at Bigbury, Bantham, Thurlestone and Hope Cove. Beach 5 miles.
