The Linhay
The Linhay is a beautifully renovated barn conversion in the idyllic setting of South Huish, just outside of the popular towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe, within the South Hams. The property is surrounded by fields while still being only a mile from the nearby beach of South Milton sands, really giving a peaceful and relaxing feel in its setting. As you enter the property, you find yourself in the bright and airy, tasteful kitchen/dining area. With well-equipped kitchen and doors from the dining area leading out onto one the lovely patio areas of the garden. Next to the kitchen is a very handy utility room and shower room and next to this is part of the garage which is also used as a large utility area with drying facilities and extra fridge/freezer. Next to the kitchen/dining area is the downstairs living area, boasting cosy wood burner and doors leading out onto another patio area of the beautiful garden. Along the downstairs hallway and there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a twin bedroom and the family bathroom.
The first floor can be accessed via the downstairs hallway or via a spiral staircase from the downstairs living room. The staircase in the living room leads to a second living room with open fire and plenty of seating, a great added benefit for when different members or ages of the family want separate spaces to relax in. Back into the upstairs hallway and from here guests can access the further two bedrooms. A double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and another bedroom with double bed with single over. The outside area of The Linhay is an excellent space for guests, with several landscaped patio areas for catching the sun at different times of the day as well as beautiful trees and shrubs throughout. The garden acts as a great social space as well as having the option of different areas for varying guests, peacefully quiet and surrounded by fields, it really is a lovely area.
The Linhay is the perfect property for families coming together wanting to be outside of the hustle and bustle but still within easy reach of everything the area has to offer, including pubs and a supermarket in the nearest village . The Beach Café at South Milton Sands is a renowned fish and seafood restaurant, listed by Conde Nast in their top 10 list of Beach Shack restaurants in the country. South Milton Sands is also home to the iconic and photogenic Thurlestone Arch rock. This beach is an excellent gently shelving launch point for canoes and paddleboards.
