The Loft is a lovely getaway property, ideal for two couples or four friends, which forms part of the main residence building and offers excellent quality accommodation in a rural location surrounded by the Devon countryside but with easy access to main roads. There are two double bedrooms, one with lovely views to the rear. There’s a modern shower room and a comfortable lounge/diner with a Smart TV and views over the land to the rear. The kitchen is a decent size and has the usual modern conveniences you’d expect. Outside you will find a pleasant seating area where you can enjoy a drink or al-fresco meal and there is enough off-road parking for two cars.
Local places of interest include Ruby Oak Park at Brandis Corner which has an indoor 25m swimming pool, café, coffee bar and outdoor play area and is ideal for families with children. Crazy golf and go karts can be found at Westward Ho! along with shops, restaurants and gorgeous beach. If you want to try something new, why not visit the Arms of Old Archery Centre located at Highampton? It is a highly recommended experience with excellent tuition and is suitable for all levels as well as total beginners interested in learning a new skill. Another favourite is the amazing town of Bude with its stunning beaches, pretty canal walk, numerous shops, cafés and bars. Gin lovers everywhere can visit Devon’s own gin bar, shop and distillery, where you can book a taste experience or simply enjoy an evening relaxing with a lovely cocktail on the decking overlooking stunning views across the countryside.
Shebbear village has a well-stocked shop and friendly pub in the village square. A great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in the newly opened pub tearoom. There are also other nearby pub/restaurants to enjoy.
The Loft is about 7 miles from the Great Torrington and 13 miles south of the port town of Bideford and just 18 miles from the Cornish coastal town of Bude. The fantastic South West Coastal Path runs through the region’s rugged coastline and is perfect for walkers and view seekers offering 90 miles of stunning walks. Into cycling or running? The popular Tarka Trail is one of the country’s longest continuous traffic-free walking and cycling paths and provides the unique opportunity to follow disused railway lines allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river scenery.
