Michaelmas Cottage is a cosy and traditional property located in a large hamlet just under one mile from the village of Braunton and approximately four miles from the regional capital, Barnstaple.
Walk in and feel instantly relaxed in the comfortable and warm surroundings, especially in the lounge/diner where you can enjoy a communal meal, sit back and take in a movie on the Smart TV that magically disappears into its cabinet, when you fancy just relaxing and enjoying the warmth of the fantastic wood burner. The galley style kitchen is functional and has all you need, along with an external utility room housing a freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, a kingsize with blackout shutters and a remote-controlled ceiling fan/light, and a large twin room plus a single pull-out bed. The bathroom is located on this floor too. Outside you’ll find a decent sized garden with a lawn and patio seating areas.
Braunton is a large North Devon village and is the gateway to some of the finest award-winning surfing beaches in the country such as Saunton Sands, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe which are all within easy reach by car. If surfing, rock pooling, walking in the dunes or simply lazing on the beach is your thing, then look no further than these stunning locations. Braunton is considered as the major hub of the immediate area and has a good selection of regular and boutique shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, including one of the country’s best fish and chips restaurants !
As the centre of the North Devon surf scene, Braunton is also home to the Museum of British Surfing and some great surfers’ shops. The fabulous Saunton Sands is a great expanse of sandy beach with exceptional sand dunes behind it, known as Braunton Burrows, the largest sand dune system in England. There are plenty of family oriented places to visit, including Exmoor Zoo, Milky Way Adventure Park, The Big Sheep farm-themed park, Watermouth Castle family theme park and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park plus many others. For visitors seeking a piece of Devon life then the main towns of Barnstaple and Bideford provide the opportunity to wander during their weekly pannier markets, with a host of local produce and crafts on offer.
