If you want to explore further afield there are weekly markets held at Barnstable’s Pannier Market, whilst Ilfracombe offers many family attractions such as Tunnels Beach, Landmark Theatre, sandy beaches and boat trips to Lundy Island. The beaches and areas of Saunton, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Croyde are all within easy driving distance, as are many local National Trust properties. The National Trust’s Watersmeet is nearby, and beauty spots include the Valley of the Rocks and the Doone Valley.
