Hillside Gardens
Located on a 6-acre plot and within a few miles of three of the best beaches in the UK are Hillside Gardens and The Bach both located in the owners’ grounds, with a lovely, shared woodland area. Hillside Gardens is a lovely detached late Victorian property with lots of charm and character and traditional high ceilings. The houses sit by the road that links Braunton and Ilfracombe and are the perfect base to explore North Devon and its beaches with Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde easy drives from a central location.
On the ground floor is a large comfortable living room with a corner sofa, a cosy open fireplace, Smart TV and a selection of games to enjoy, not forgetting the piano for those who fancy tickling the ivories. Then there’s a separate dining room with a garden view, a kitchen/diner with everything you’d expect to make this a home from home. Upstairs you’ll find four bedrooms and a separate family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. The bedrooms include a super kingsize with en-suite shower room, a bunk, a twin and a kingsize, all with beautiful countryside views. Step outside and enjoy the privacy on offer with an enclosed private garden and raised sun decks where you will find a fantastic, covered barbecue deck with table and chairs, a firepit and solar powered lighting. There is also a large south facing veranda to enjoy the morning sun. Newly built in 2022, The Bach offers privacy and although ideal for a peaceful getaway for two people it will sleep up to four by way of a double sofa bed in the living area. The latter has a Smart TV and is open plan with the kitchen/dining room which offers contemporary equipment including a dishwasher and a coffee machine. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and there’s a shower room with walk-in shower. Outside the property benefits from a secluded and elevated position on the land and offers grass areas and a patio with outdoor seating.
The nearest pub is just down the road in Knowle and Braunton itself, under 2 miles away is a large village with everything you need locally and is the gateway to some of the finest award-winning surfing beaches in the country such as Saunton Sands, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe which are all within easy reach by car. If surfing, rock pooling, walking in the dunes or simply lazing on the beach is your thing, then look no further than these stunning locations. Braunton is considered as the major hub of the immediate area and has a good selection of regular and boutique shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, including fish and chips restaurants. As the centre of the North Devon surf scene, Braunton is also home to the Museum of British Surfing and some great surfers’ shops. The fabulous Saunton Sands is a great expanse of sandy beach with exceptional sand dunes behind it, known as Braunton Burrows, the largest sand dune system in England. Walkers and runners love the dunes, and it is also great for dogs. Saunton Golf Club is under 5-miles away and the Tarka Trail which allows you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river scenery is within easy reach too and follows a disused railway line and is loved by cyclists, runners and walkers alike.
