A beautifully presented and luxurious detached cottage, full of character that sleeps up to eight people with accommodation on two levels. There are four bedrooms on the first floor; a super kingsize that can be made up as a twin on request, two kings, and a single. The gorgeous bathroom with views has a freestanding claw bath with a rain shower over – the perfect place to relax after a long drive to the location.
Downstairs is a comfortable living room with a Smart TV and cosy wood burner, and a large opening that leads into the dining room for more formal mealtimes, with its own Rayburn range cooker. The kitchen/day room has everything you’ll need for your stay including a coffee machine and even a rice cooker! There’s a breakfast area here too and in the day room area and additional Smart TV. There’s a handy utility area with washing machine and portable clothes airer.
Outside you can enjoy sunny days playing or relaxing in the ample gardens with a separate raised enclosed area, perfect for young children and dogs. And then there’s the main lawn area where games can be played and children can run freely, and evenings can be spent in front of the firepit toasting marshmallows while stargazing. There is also ample parking on-site.
Berrynarbor is a small and beautiful village on the slopes of a lovely valley which is rich in meadow and pastureland. The surrounding area has many attractions waiting to be discovered such as the local beaches and in particular Combe Martin, just 2 miles away, where you can enjoy the stunning sunsets of the North Devon coast. Nearby is Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park and the surrounding area boasts other attractions such as Cairn Woodland Nature Reserve, Watermouth Bay and the South West Coast Path. The lovely Fuchsia Valley, Watermouth Castle & Theme Park, and the nearby town of Ilfracombe with its very own harbour and port which dates back to at least the 12th century with quality ice cream, fish & chips, and various craft shops, plus Damien Hirst’s Verity statue which is a must see. Trips to Lundy Island, coastal cruises, fishing, sea-life safaris, and diving are also all available from here. Take a trip on the Ilfracombe Princess and see seals, porpoises and sea birds nesting on the cliffs. Try your hand at sea fishing on Blue Fin or take an exhilarating tour of the amazing coastline on the Ilfracombe Sea Safari or on the Hampshire Rose, a former RNLI Lifeboat.
The property is also perfectly situated to enjoy the countless other North Devon attractions such as some of the best UK beaches and the popular Tarka Trail, which provides a unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery stretching from Barnstaple through to Bideford and beyond. Then there’s stunning Exmoor National Park with its beautiful night skies, just 7 miles away, and Lynton & Lynmouth, c. 14 miles to the northeast with its incredible sea views, rugged cliffs and amazing funicular cliff railway, which opened in 1890 and is the highest and steepest totally water powered railway in the world!
