Camellia Cottage
Located just 2 miles from the excellent surfing beach at Westward Ho!, this lovely mid terraced holiday home is the perfect base for discovering amazing North Devon. The property is on three levels. On the ground floor is the living room with a Smart TV and cosy electric fire. There’s a separate dining room with French doors leading outside, and the kitchen offers everything you’ll need for your stay. On the first floor are a kingsize and a bunk bedroom; the second floor has a double with an en-suite shower room and estuary views. There is also a very spacious family bathroom with a bath and shower attachment plus a shower cubicle. Outside you can enjoy al-fresco meals or a peaceful evening drink in the courtyard.
Positioned just minutes from the waterside and the excellent variety of eateries, coffee shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs, the property is perfectly positioned for Appledore’s lovely quay which benefits from gorgeous views out towards Instow, which can be easily reached by car or simply by taking the ferry. Here you can enjoy the quiet inlet with sand dunes and a sandy beach along with a selection of pubs, restaurants and the excellent delicatessen. Back in Appledore there are plenty of quaint village streets which host a wide range of cafés, public houses, and boutique shops - the perfect place to simply wander around and take in the surroundings and traditional fisherman’s cottages. The historic port town of Bideford is just two miles away and offers a taste of traditional North Devon life with its weekly pannier market and of course has all the usual town facilities such as a large supermarket and high street.
The sandy beach of Westward Ho!, 2 miles, which has great views out towards Lundy Island, can be visited on a day trip and is popular with surfers, windsurfers and beach lovers alike. Other amazing beaches include Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde, which are all within easy reach by car. There are plenty of local attractions and amenities nearby including Northam Golf Course, horse riding stables, an indoor swimming pool, fishing, sailing and water-skiing facilities. Family attractions include the Big Sheep and Milky Way theme parks, Dartington Crystal Factory, Tapeley Park, and the Tarka Trail, which is popular with walkers, runners and cyclists and follows a disused railway line all the way to Barnstaple and Torrington in the opposite direction. And then there’s the South West Coastal Path which offers in North Devon alone, 90 miles of walks with amazing and dramatic coastal views.
