Westward Ho! and its beach are about four miles away. Bude is about a 25 minute drive over the border into Cornwall. Both are good for surfing. The Tarka Trail for cycling and walking is close by.
For days out, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are nearby if you've got kids. National Trust Devon has lots of local coastline and gardens like Rosemoor. The Hartland Peninsula and Clovelly village are worth the drive.
Facilities wise: it's got a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a patio area. You can bring one dog. The on-site facilities like the pool and gym are shared with other guests.
