The Old Post House

The Old Post House is in Higher Clovelly. It's at the top of the village, so you can drive right to it. The main part of Clovelly is car free so you have to walk down, but you park at the house.

It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms. Three bathrooms, which is handy with that many people. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's well kitted out and finished to a good standard.

The layout is a bit unusual. There are two staircases, so the bedrooms are split into two separate areas on the first floor. It gives you a bit of privacy if you're two families.

Inside, the living room is big. There's a wood burner and a piano. French doors open onto the patio. There's also a snug room off the living room if someone wants to read. The kitchen is a good size for cooking for a group.

Outside there's a patio and then a large lawn. You can see the sea from the garden, and Lundy Island on a clear day.

Clovelly village is the main thing here. You walk down the cobbled street to the harbour. It's steep. The Clovelly estate website has the visitor information. For a wider beach, Westward Ho! is about a 20-minute drive. The coast path is right there if you want to walk.

Further out, you can drive to Hartland Point for the cliffs and lighthouse. Bideford is about half an hour away for shops, or to get the boat to Lundy. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline around here.

Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking and all the bedding. There's bike storage. No pets.
