Hawthorn Apartment
Hawthorn Apartment is one of several on a complex called Moorhead Country Holidays, just outside Venn. We're on a 12-acre site, so it feels quite open.
The apartment itself sleeps four in two bedrooms and has one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The stairs inside are what they are: steep and a bit narrow.
On site, you can use the indoor heated pool and the hot tub, which is nice after a day out. There's a games room, a small gym, and a bar and restaurant. They do a takeaway too. The fishing lake is here if you're into that.
You're about four miles from the coast. Westward Ho! is the nearest for a proper beach. Bude is maybe 20 minutes by car, that's good for surfing. For a quieter day, the pretty harbour villages like Clovelly and Appledore are a short drive away.
If you're walking, the Tarka Trail and the South West Coast Path are right on the doorstep. For a family day, The Big Sheep or The Milky Way adventure parks are close by. Gardeners often go to RHS Rosemoor.
Facilities wise, it's all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, parking. There's a washing machine in the apartment. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
