Shannon

Shannon is a new build house, finished in 2024. It's on the outskirts of Newport. We're quite proud of it because it's been done properly. It's detached, so there's no one attached to you.

It sleeps ten people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, all with walk-in showers. One is attached to the main bedroom. The whole downstairs is open plan. The big folding doors open right onto the garden. The view is over fields, honestly it's very nice, especially the sunrises.

Inside, it's modern and comfortable. The kitchen has an island and a breakfast bar. There's underfloor heating, a dishwasher, washing machine, all that. It has a 4 Star rating, which is about right. It's a high standard.

You can bring two dogs. The garden is fully enclosed. At the bottom of the garden there's a gate onto a lane, so you can walk straight out from the house. You can walk or cycle into Newport from there.

The local pub is about a 15 minute walk. Newport town centre is a short drive or a decent walk. Ryde seafront is about ten minutes in the car.

You're pretty central on the island here. Carisbrooke Castle is very close. Osborne House is about a 15 minute drive. For a day out, the National Trust and English Heritage sites are all within easy reach. Robin Hill and Blackgang Chine are 20-30 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

There's parking on the drive for several cars. Bedding and towels are included. We can sometimes arrange a discount on the ferry crossing if you ask when you book.

This is one of a few houses we have on the same site. They can be booked together for bigger groups.
