The Apricot Tree is in Carisbrooke, Newport. That’s about a mile and a half from the town centre.
It sleeps four in two double rooms. Both have their own bathrooms, one is an en-suite. That’s handy.
The main thing about the place is the garden. It’s big. It looks out over fields towards Carisbrooke Castle. It’s peaceful. You get a lot of birds.
The cottage has been done up recently. There’s a new kitchen diner with bi-fold doors that open onto the patio. It’s a solid 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and has everything you need.
Carisbrooke Castle itself is a five minute walk. It’s an English Heritage site, so if you’re a member you can get in. English Heritage.
Newport has the usual shops and supermarkets. For the beach, you’re looking at a drive. Ryde is about twenty minutes, with its long pier and seafront. Cowes is a similar distance, on the other side.
The coastal path is good for walking. If you want to explore the island properly, you’ll need a car. You can get to most places, like the Needles or Ventnor, within half an hour.
For facilities: there’s parking on the gravel drive. WiFi and a TV. Washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. No pets.
