Coastguard's Cottage

Coastguard's Cottage is in Weybourne, right on the cliff. It's detached, quite square and functional looking from the outside. The main thing is the position. You're about 15 yards from the beach path and the sea view is pretty much everything.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom and a shower room are downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. The owner's family have used it for years, so it's comfortable and lived-in, not a show home. It's full of books and odd bits of furniture. If you like everything new and perfect, it might feel a bit shabby. If you like a place with character, you'll be fine.

The best room is upstairs, in the old lookout bit. It's the living room. Windows on two sides look straight out to sea. There's a wood burner and a sofa. It's where everyone ends up.

The kitchen is small, like a ship's galley. It works. There's a conservatory for eating in. The garden is a patio area, enclosed. Parking for two cars on the gravel.

You can take up to three dogs. The beach is shingle. It's good for long walks. The local pub, The Ship, is about three quarters of a mile up the road. They do food.

Sheringham is a few miles along the coast for shops and a proper high street. Cromer is about twenty minutes in the car for the pier and crab sandwiches. The North Norfolk Railway steam trains stop at Weybourne station, which is a short walk. For a day out, Holkham Hall and beach are about half an hour away. Blakeney Point for the seals is similar.

Facilities: it has Wi-Fi, TV, the wood burner, parking, bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine. It has central heating.
