Maison De Quai is on the quay in Cley next the Sea. It's one of a row of houses right in the village. You're about 100 yards from the coastal path here.
I wouldn't call it an 'impressive holiday property', that's the agent's talk. It's a solid, comfortable house that sleeps six. It's got three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. The 5 Star rating means it's well-equipped and finished to a good spec.
The layout is a bit different. The main living room is on the top floor. It's light up there, with a wood-burning stove, and you can see out towards the marshes. The kitchen and dining area are on the ground floor, with a door out to the enclosed courtyard garden. The stairs are standard for a house this age.
You're right in the middle of things. The village shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and some galleries are all a minute's walk away. The beach is about half a mile. The salt marshes and the bird hides for the Norfolk Wildlife Trust are right on your doorstep. It's a big spot for birdwatchers.
For a day out, Blakeney Quay is just over a mile away. Holt is four miles. Wells-next-the-Sea has a great beach and harbour, that's about nine miles. Holkham Hall and its beach are ten miles. Sheringham and Cromer are along the coast if you want a traditional seaside town. The Coastal Hopper bus runs along the coast road if you don't want to drive.
Facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Bicycle storage too. No pets.
