Manor Cottage is a detached house in Stiffkey, off the main street. It's old, it's quiet, and it used to be barn for the Manor House next door. The main thing is it's peaceful. You'll hear birds, not traffic.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-kept. The doorways are a standard height, none of that low beam business, but the bathroom is on the first floor.
You're five minutes in the car from Wells-next-the-Sea. The Stiffkey salt marshes are at the bottom of the lane, maybe a ten minute walk. That's how you get to the sea from here. It's all mudflats and creeks, not a sandy beach. For that, you drive to Wells or Holkham.
The local pub is about half a mile away. Decent food. There's a village shop 500 yards for basics.
For days out, Wells is the obvious one. The quay, fish and chips, the narrow-gauge railway. Blakeney for seal trips is about fifteen minutes east. Holkham Hall and beach are ten minutes. Sheringham and Cromer, with the piers, are maybe twenty-five minutes drive. Norwich is under an hour if you need a city or a big shop.
Things here: woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a garden with a patio and a BBQ. Parking for two cars on the gravel drive. Wheelchair access to the ground floor is okay, but the bathroom is upstairs. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
