Black Horse Cottage
Black Horse Cottage is on Barrack Square. That's a quiet lane just off Staithe Street. You're a two minute walk from the quay.
The cottage sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've tried to keep the old bits like the brickwork and beams, and put in things that work properly.
The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're steep. You need to mind your head on the beam in the kitchen. The garden at the back is small but it's yours. It's fully enclosed so decent for dogs.
You can bring two dogs. Parking is on the street outside the cottage. It's usually fine to get a space but it is first come first served.
Wells beach is huge. It's a mile from the cottage, so you can walk it along the harbour path or drive out to the beach car park. The beach huts are good if you've got kids, saves carting everything back and forth.
The quay is great for watching boats. Staithe Street has shops, a few pubs, fish and chips, and a good deli.
For local walks, the National Trust Brancaster Estate and Norfolk Coast National Landscape sites are useful. Holkham Hall is about ten minutes' drive. Blakeney for the seals is about twenty minutes.
Inside there's a wood burning stove and a range cooker. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
