Lavender Cottage
Lavender Cottage is in Wighton. It's a big detached house off a country lane, sleeps twelve people. Six bedrooms, three bathrooms. Suits a large family or a couple of families together.
It's set back in its own garden, mainly lawn. There's a decked area with a table out the back that gets the afternoon sun.
Inside, it's comfortable and well looked after, but it's not a show home. It's a place to be used. The dining table seats everyone. There are two twin bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor, which is handy if stairs are a problem.
The stairs to the first floor are fine, typical for an older house.
The village pub is a few minutes' walk away. It's decent and does food. The nearest shop for basics is in Wells, about two miles.
The coast is two miles away. Wells-next-the-Sea has a great sandy beach, cafes, shops. You can get boat trips from nearby Morston Quay to see the seals. National Trust Wells Beach has parking information.
Holkham Hall and its beach are a short drive. The whole north Norfolk coast is good for walking and birdwatching. The Norfolk Coast Path is right there. Holt is a nice market town about six miles inland.
We allow two well-behaved dogs. All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for several cars on the gravel drive.
